INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY
ABOUT ME |
I identify as a settler of Scottish/Irish, French and Algonquin ancestry. My Algonquin ancestry is situated in early relationships between French settlers and Algonquins in Western Quebec. This ancestry is important to me but it's a small part of who I am and my Scottish and French ancestry forms the bulk of my identity. I am an active participant in work around identity and decolonization.
It's been my honour to work with indigenous community members, knowledge keepers and elders in both my personal and professional life and this experience is what informs my work in supporting the indigenous community. I use Western therapeutic approaches (such as attachment theory, focusing) as a way to support people's healing path and I offer encouragement in reconnecting to traditional healing modalities that are outside of my scope. |
WHAT DO PEOPLE TALK ABOUT IN SESSION? |
